What is an AI ad film?
An AI ad film is a commercial where every shot is generated instead of filmed. The brand, the product, the script and the direction are real; the camera, the set, the cast and the location are built with generative video models and then edited, graded and mixed like any other commercial.
At dotMD the process is directed like a real production. A brief becomes a storyboard, the storyboard is approved scene by scene, and only then is anything generated. That is why the result reads as a film rather than a demo: camera language, continuity, lighting and sound design are decided before production starts.
What can an AI commercial show?
- Any location, at any scale: a souk at night, a desert at noon, a stadium, a kitchen, a street in Cairo, Riyadh or Dubai, without permits or travel.
- Your product exactly as it is. We work from your photos and keep the shape, colours, label and text unchanged.
- An AI cast of any age and look, or a real person from your side with their written consent.
- Voice-over in Egyptian, Gulf or Classical Arabic, or English, with music and sound design.
- Realistic, stylised, animated or surreal looks. You choose in the brief.
How does the process work?
| Brief | The idea | Tell us the idea in one call, one email or the brief form on this site. |
|---|---|---|
| Storyboard | Approval | You approve every scene on paper before anything is generated. |
| Production | AI and craft | We generate, edit, grade and add sound and voice. |
| Delivery | Every format | 16:9, 9:16 and 4:5 cuts, plus stills, in about nine working days. |
How long does an AI ad film take?
A commercial goes from concept to final film in about nine working days. The storyboard is usually ready within a few days of the brief; production starts the moment you approve it. Short cutdowns and social versions are delivered with the main film, not after it.
How is this different from a traditional shoot?
| Traditional shoot | dotMD | |
|---|---|---|
| Crew and location | Director, DOP, crew, permits, travel | None |
| Casting | Casting days and agency fees | AI cast, or your own person with consent |
| Changes | Reshoots on set | On the storyboard, before production |
| Formats | Extra shoot days or crops | 16:9, 9:16 and 4:5 from one production |
| Time | Weeks to months | About nine working days |
Who is it for?
Brands and the agencies that work with them: food and drinks, fashion, beauty and fragrance, real estate, automotive, retail, tech and apps, hospitality and tourism. Agencies in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE use dotMD as a white-label production partner for their own clients.
