The brief
A film for the Kingdom's National Day that feels made for Saudi viewers, not about them from the outside: respectful of dress and place, cinematic in scale, and finished in time for the day itself. A brand would normally need weeks of location work across the country for this. We had days.
The idea
Portraits and places. A woman in a silver face veil between hanging carpets. Light on stone, sand and fabric. Still, composed frames that let the score carry the feeling, cut to its rises. No voice-over, no slogan, the music and the faces do the work.
The storyboard
Each frame was designed on paper first: the subject, the dress, the setting, the light and the camera move. Cultural details were checked before anything was generated, because a wrong detail in a National Day film is the kind of mistake you cannot take back. Only the approved frames went into production.
The production
- Frames were generated to the storyboard and the best takes selected for consistency of light and palette.
- The original score was composed for the film, and the cut was built on it.
- A single grade across the film: warm skin, deep shadows, the sand and silver of the Kingdom.
- Delivered in 16:9 and as a vertical cut for Instagram.
What this shows
Seasonal films (National Day, Ramadan, Eid, Founding Day) can be made in days with the same care as a campaign shoot. For brands and agencies in Saudi Arabia, that means a film for every occasion without a production trip for each one.
