What an AI ad is, and what it is not
An AI ad from dotMD is a directed commercial: a script, a storyboard, a shot list, a colour grade, a sound mix and a voice. The difference from a filmed spot is only that the frames are generated rather than photographed. It is not a template filled by a tool, it does not use stock footage, and nothing goes into production before you have approved every scene on paper.
Your product, pack, logo and typography are kept exactly as they are, built from your own photos. People in the film are created characters unless you bring a real presenter or ambassador with written consent, in which case they appear from their own reference material.
Who buys AI ads in Egypt
- Food and drinks brands launching a new product, where the pack has to be exact and the launch date does not move.
- Real estate developers selling off plan: the compound, the villa and the sea view exist in the film before they exist on the ground.
- Restaurants, cafés and delivery brands that need a new reel every week without a crew in the kitchen every week.
- E-commerce and retail with twenty products and one budget: one storyboard system, one look, every SKU.
- Telecom, banking and fintech brand films where the scale of the set would otherwise set the budget.
- Agencies that have an approved animatic and need the finished film in days, white label, with the client relationship untouched.
How an AI commercial is made
| Brief | One page | What the ad has to do, for whom, where it runs, the length and the formats. Product photos, logo and brand guide if you have one. |
|---|---|---|
| Script and storyboard | On paper | We write the spot and draw every scene as a frame with the camera move, the light and the line of voice-over. You approve, change or reject scene by scene. |
| Production | Generated | Each approved frame becomes a shot. The product is kept exactly as it is from your photos; faces, sets, crowds and weather are created. |
| Finish | Edit, grade, sound, voice | Cut to the music, colour graded, sound designed, mixed, with the voice-over recorded in the dialect you chose and subtitles if you want them. |
| Delivery | Every format | 16:9 for TV and YouTube, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 4:5 and 1:1 for feed, plus stills for posts and print. One round of changes is included after the final cut. |
AI ad or filmed commercial: what changes

| What sets the budget | Shoot days, cast, locations, travel, equipment | Length, number of scenes, formats, rounds of changes |
| Time | Weeks of pre production, the shoot, then post | About nine working days from brief to final film |

| Weather, traffic, daylight | Risks you schedule around | Written into the storyboard |

Arabic on screen and in the voice
Egyptian ads are written in Egyptian Arabic, Gulf versions in Gulf Arabic, pan Arab campaigns in Modern Standard Arabic, and English when the brand speaks English. Voice-over is recorded in the dialect you choose. On screen Arabic, from the pack to the end card, is set correctly, right to left, with the brand font.
Ramadan, launches and always on
The same process makes a Ramadan commercial, a product launch film or a monthly batch of social ads. Brands that run always on usually brief once a month and receive a set of short ads cut from one storyboard system, so every piece looks like the same brand.
